1) Complete the Application Essay

Instructions:

Give reasons why you desire to be an Apprentice in your own handwriting. Take your time and concentrate on: content, research, and well produced sentences. Complete the essay on a separate piece of paper. When completed, this essay must be included in your application packet.

2) Gather the following items to complete your “Application Packet”:

Copy of high school diploma or GED with accompanying grades

Official High School Transcripts. If the school will not give you an official copy, have them mail a copy to the apprenticeship office.) *If you are submitting a GED with accompanying scores, you must also submit your high school transcripts. If you are including a college/trade school diploma and/or transcript, you must also submit your high school transcripts.

3) Once you have compiled all required documents

Applicants may return completed applications and required documents to the Training Center by:

In person drop off - Applications and required documents may be dropped off to the Training Center on the first Wednesday of the month from 8:00AM until 3:00PM.
The application deadline for the September 2025 class is 12:00PM on Friday, May 16, 2025.

All applicants that submit a complete application (application and all required documents) will be scheduled to take the applicant aptitude test. All applicants with qualifying scores on this test will be given the opportunity to interview with the Joint Apprenticeship Committee.

If you are offered a position in the next apprenticeship class, we will arrange for a physical examination, X-ray of your lungs and drug screening. You will be responsible for the cost of the physical exam and X-ray. Should you fail to successfully pass these examinations, your apprenticeship offer will be rescinded.
